Eric T. Anderson, DVM, DACZM

 
Dr. Anderson received a veterinary degree in 2005 from the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine. Following vet school he completed a 1 year small animal medicine and surgery internship and a 1 year aquatic medicine focused residency at Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium. Most recently Dr. Anderson completed a Zoological Medicine Residency at the North Carolina State University.

 

 
Carol M. Bradford, DVM, DACZM

Dr. Bradford graduated from the Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. From there she transitioned to Avian and Exotic Animal Care, an exotics-exclusive private practice in Raleigh, North Carolina. Dr. Bradford then completed a two-year internship with the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore from 2005-2007. Following this internship, she moved to the Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend Indiana. Since 2010, she has been the Associate Veterinarian for the Abuqerque BioPark. Dr. Bradford has special interests in reptile, primate, and felid medicine.

 

Catherine Alexandra Hadfield, MA, VetMB, MRCVS, DACZM

Dr. Hadfield graduated from the Cambridge School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She then did an internship at the National Aquarium in Baltimore. Her current position is as an associate veterinarian at the National Aquarium.

 

 

Natalie H. Hall, DVM, DACZM

 

Dr. Hall graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She worked as an associate veterinarian and staff manager in mixed private practice for six years, during which she provided relief veterinary services to local zoos. In 2009, she completed an internship in wildlife and conservation medicine at the Wildlife Center of Virginia. She recently completed a residency in zoological medicine through the University of Florida, and she is currently a clinical instructor for Disney's Department of Animal Health.

 

Stephanie L., McCain, DVM, DACZM

Dr. McCain received a DVM from Auburn University. Following veterinary school she did a 1 year small animal internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey and then a 1 year zoo medicine internship at the University of Tennessee. She stayed on at the University of Tennessee for a residency in Zoo medicine. Dr. McCain has been the veterinarian at the Birmingham Zoo for the past 3 years.

 

 
Tim Portas BVSc, MVSc, MACVSc (Zoo Medicine), DACZM

Dr. Portas received his BVSc from the University of Sydney in 1996. Upon graduation he worked in private veterinary practice for two and a half years. Since then he has worked for Werribee Open Range Zoo, Western Plains Zoo and Australia Zoo. He now runs his own company Zoo & Wildlife Veterinary Consultancy and provides contract and consultancy services to a number of zoos and wildlife agencies. He obtained membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Zoo Medicine in 2001 and received his MVSc from the University of Sydney in 2012 for research investigations into the fertility potential of captive male rhinoceroses.

 

 
Elizabeth M. Stringer, DVM, DACZM

Dr. Stringer graduated from the University of Minnesota and went on to hold a zoo medicine internship at the Indianapolis Zoo followed by a zoo medicine residency at North Carolina State University. Dr. Stringer is currently staff veterinarian at the Denver Zoo.

 

Sandra Wenger, Dr. med. vet. , ECVAA, MSc (Wild Animal Health), DACZM

Dr. Wenger attended the University of Bern, Switzerland, College of Veterinary Medicine. She is currently employed at the University of Zurich and the Zurich Zoo.
