Call for application: VETAHEAD’s Scholarship Program is partnering with ACZM and aims to expand access to Zoological Medicine education (a.k.a. exotic animal medicine) to veterinary professionals and students from traditionally underserved and underrepresented groups, including the BIPOC communities, LGBTQIA+ communities, and people with disabilities.

Criteria for applicants: The candidates need to be veterinary professionals (veterinarians, technicians, nurses or vet assistant) or students of the aforementioned professions, and be part of underrepresented groups, including the BIPOC communities, LGBTQIA+ communities, and people with disabilities.
Conference eligibility: To be considered for these scholarship spots, entrants must: (i) be the age of eighteen (18) or older; (ii) self-identify as a veterinarian, technician, assistant, nurse or student from an underrepresented group; and (iii) submit a response to this scholarship application.
Results Announcement:The scholarship recipients will be announced on the VETAHEAD social media channels on October 15th, 2025. Recipients will be notified no later than October 15th, 2025, via the email address provided in the application.
Recipients of the scholarship will be expected to provide a short video (30-90 seconds), a written statement and a picture to be used on VETAHEAD’s and/or ACZM channels.
Application packet: The applications must be submitted via this form by September 20th at 11:59PM, Pacific Time. Applications submitted by any other method or past the due date will not be considered.
Scholarship applications will be reviewed by ACZM. Applications will be assessed based on the answers on this form. Decisions on who to award scholarships to is subjective and final. No purchase is necessary to receive a scholarship.
