American College of Zoological Medicine Exam Preparation and Study Course in Conjunction with the 2018 ExoticsCon Conference in Atlanta, GA, USA

Basic Information 

The Education Committee of the American College of Zoological Medicine (ACZM) is offering an Exam Preparation and Study Course in conjunction with the 2018 ExoticsCon, the joint conference of the Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV), the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV), and the Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV).

This exam preparation and study course is administered and instructed by ACZM Diplomates and other specialists, including Drs. Lisa Harrenstien, Stephen Divers, Minh Huynh, Olivia Petritz, Tara Harrison, Julie Swenson, Emi Knafo and Kendal Harr.

 

The tentative schedule for the course includes the following: 

 

8:00 a.m. – Introduction to course and to ACZM 

8:45 a.m. – ACZM board exam structure and study strategies 

9:45 a.m. – Break 

10:00 a.m. – Neoplasia in ZCA species 

11:00 a.m. – Avian cardiology 

11:45 a.m. – Lunch (included with course registration fee) 

12:30 p.m. – Reptilian blood biochemical analysis 

1:30 p.m. – Endocrinology in ZCA species 

2:30 p.m. – Break 

2:45 p.m. – Mycobacteriosis in animals other than ZCA species 

3:30 p.m. – Musculoskeletal issues in reptiles

4:30 p.m. – Mock exam and discussion 

5:15 p.m. – Course evaluations 

6:30 to 9 p.m. – Reception at a nearby restaurant (included with course registration fee) 

 

Course attendees will receive an electronic version of ACZM information handouts, in-depth lecture materials, lunch, and evening appetizers/drinks.
